Carla Shalaby is a researcher on teaching and teacher education, and the coordinator of social justice initiatives and community internships at the University of Michigan. Her work focuses on the critical role that children and teachers play in the ongoing struggle for justice. She is the author of Troublemakers: Lessons in Freedom from Young Children at School (The New Press, 2017).
